The money Tri for Joe raises goes to support the New Baby Celebration Program at the DSAGC. Studies prove local parent support groups improve mothers' psychosocial situation and have effected positive changes in physician's attitudes about Down syndrome. We are honored to help fund these extremely important programs.

New Baby Celebration Program
The birth of a child with Down syndrome is a reason for our community to celebrate! It's also a time when the families need us the most. Keeping this in mind, we offer the following services to any baby born in the Greater Cincinnati area with Down syndrome free of charge:

Expecting An Extraordinary Life: A New Parent's Guide to Down Syndrome
This new magazine is written specifically to new parents in our nine county area and presents critical information on Down syndrome and local resources available to help. It is hand delivered to the 24 area hospitals with birthing centers, special care nurseries, perinatal care coordinators and geneticists so it is always available to parents from the very first day of birth.

24 Hour Help Line
Our Family Support Coordinator is available to field questions and concerns from new parents every day of the year 24 hours a day.

New Baby Welcome Visits
We welcome our new families by visiting them in their homes or at the hospital and presenting them with a beautiful gift basket full of presents for the new baby which may include books, a DVD, baby clothing, toys, a receiving blanket and edible goodies.

Seasons of the Heart
This support group is exclusively geared towards new parents and gives them an opportunity to help work through the emotions of having a baby with Down syndrome with other brand new parents.

New Parent Dinners and New Baby Breakfasts
We think having a baby with Down syndrome is a cause to celebrate. Parents of newborns bring their beautiful babies and show them off as they get to eat and visit with each other-- compliments of the DSAGC.

Parent To Parent Network Program
The DSAGC has a powerful support network that connects new parents with other parents that have a 3-5 year old child with Down syndrome. The network offers one-on-one support and gives the new parents an opportunity to hear first-hand experiences on specific issues.
